Webinar on Reporting Land Degradation Neutrality to the UNCCD

February 25, 2026

The Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) and the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD), in partnership with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), held the first webinar dedicated to the 2026 Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) reporting cycle for 22 English-speaking countries.

This event is part of a series of strategic meetings designed to support national institutions and African countries in monitoring and sustainably managing their natural resources, thereby strengthening their resilience. It also aims to enhance regional coordination of LDN monitoring activities.

Participants at this meeting received practical guidance to structure the national reporting process while planning the next steps for its implementation, and to identify the technical support and guidance needs of the institutions involved.

A second workshop for French-speaking countries will be organized soon.
