As part of its participation at COP15, which was held in Abidjan, the OSS took part in the "Shaping enabling conditions for sustainable interventions for drought resilience" side event, co-organized by the Development Research Institute (IRD) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Côte d'Ivoire, on Friday May 13, 2022.
This event aimed to contribute to the UNCCD's drought program and to agree on the best conditions for sustainable drought actions in the drylands of Africa.

In his speech, Mr. Nabil Ben Khatra emphasized the importance of adopting a multi-thematic and multi-scale spatio-temporal approach to address the drought phenomenon and its short-term food insecurity impact and the loss of the soil production potential in the long term.
Mrs. Fatou MAR, presented the OSS programs and achievements, in particular those relating to the establishment of the Drought Early Warning System.
