The work of the study visit to La Tour du Valat, as part of the Restore NAW project "Restoration of wetlands in North Africa as a nature-based solution to enhance water and food security," has commenced.
Organized by the Observatory of the Sahara and the Sahel in partnership with SEMIDE and La Tour du Valat, this visit will take place from January 23 to 24, 2024.
The main objective is to gather partners and stakeholders of the Restore NAW project from Morocco and Tunisia to encourage the exchange and sharing of experiences and best practices for the management and preservation of wetlands.
Furthermore, it is important to emphasize the particular significance of this initiative in the Mediterranean context, where wetlands play a crucial role in biodiversity, water regulation, and ecosystem preservation.
