A regional training of trainers workshop will be held from April 1 to 5, 2024, at the Agricultural Mechanization Training Centre in Grand Lahou, Cote d'Ivoire. The training will be provided by experts from IER-RCoS-Rice, the Cornell University and the OSS and will focus on innovative adaptation approaches for producing climate-resilient rice. This event is part of the regional RICOWAS project activities, financed by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by the OSS.
The main purpose is to train 39 highly qualified master trainers, representing the 13 ECOWAS member countries benefiting from the project. These trainers will act as relays in their respective countries, thus ensuring the dissemination of System of Rice Intensification (SRI) techniques, Climate Resilient Rice Production (CRRP) practices, as well as environmental and socio-economic issues linked to rice production.
